Graduated American University
After four long years, I am proud to share that I have graduated with a Bachelor’s in Public Relations & Strategic Communication and a minor in International Business. I began college at 17, having just received my permanent residency in the middle of a global pandemic. That first year tested me in every way—I came close to transferring, unsure if I could truly make it.
However, just as I was preparing to leave, I crossed paths with a handful of incredible people—professors, staff, and friends—who made me feel seen and grounded at AU. Funny enough, when you’re ready to give up, you start taking more risks. I began saying “yes” more often, giving everything a shot before deciding whether it was for me.
Those yeses brought me into student-facing administrative work, where I helped communicators, stakeholders, and leaders better understand the needs and wants of the student body. One of my most meaningful roles was at the Office of Alumni Relations, where I had the opportunity to bridge the AAPINH alumni network with the AAPINH student community and sit in on Board of Trustees meetings.
During my time at AU, I served on the executive boards of the Asian American Student Union, the Residence Hall Association, the CAS Undergraduate Council, and the Student Government Judicial Board. Beyond student leadership, I also contributed to the Finish Line Committee for the Change Can’t Wait campaign, and served as both an Inclusive Excellence Ambassador and a MCAR Student Ambassador.
